For Tutors Giving Tuition

Registration
- Registering as a tutor with TuitionME is free. However, TuitionME reserves all rights to refuse your application.
- Registration requirements:
- You must be a Singaporean, Permanent Resident or hold a student pass.
- You must be at least 18 years old
Tutor Account
- You will receive an account designation upon completing TuitionME's tutor registration process.
- Your account is identified by a unique Tutor Id.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for restricting access to your computer, and you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password.
- You agree to
- Ensure that you exit from your account at the end of each session.
- TuitionME reserves the right to refuse service, remove or edit content, or terminate accounts.
Tutor Profile
- You understand that you are to fill in all personal information as accurately as possible and will not attempt to mislead customers using TuitionME's services.
- You understand that all information, data, text, photographs, graphics, messages or other materials ("Content"), whether publicly posted or privately transmitted, are the sole responsibility of the person from which such Content originated.
- This means that you, and not TuitionME, are entirely responsible for all Content that you upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available via TuitionME.com.sg.
- You are not allowed to post contact details (telephone numbers or website address) in your tutor profile. Failure to comply will lead to the termination of your tutor account.
Qualifications and Certificates
- You are to present your certificates of qualification on the first lesson to the parent or the use the online certificate storage facility
- TuitionME reserves the right to request copies of your original certificates for verification.
- You can should the online certificate storage facility available in your TuitionME account to store scanned copies of your certificates.
- Only verified certificates will be given qualification rating.
- TuitionME reserves the right to change the rating scheme to better meet the needs of customer.
- The certificate images are not available publicly. TuitionME will present the certificate images compiled in PDF format to the customer after you have been assigned for the first lesson.
New Request
- You can indicate your interest in the tuition request but being shortlisted for assignment is subjected to the customer's requirement and preference.
First lesson and Assignment
- A representative from TuitionME (hence referred to as Coordinator) will inform you to call the customer before the first lesson begins. You are expected to contact the customer before the first lesson for re-confirmation of the tuition information.
- Upon confirmation of the tuition assignment, failure to turn for the first lesson or any other reasons caused by you resulting in the cancellation of the assignment will lead to the termination of your tutor account. This will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- You will receive an SMS reminder with the address and time of the lesson one day before the lesson begins.
- If you have not uploaded your scanned certificates to our online certificate storage facility, you need to bring your original certificates on the first lesson if you are requested to do so.
- The customer or the coordinator will inform you if the tuition lesson will be continued.
Cancellation of assignment
- There is no contract between you and the customer and there is no commitment to complete a fixed amount of lesson.
- The customer can stop the tuition at any time.
- There is no trial lesson and you can expect to receive payment for any amount of lessons rendered unless the customer is dissatisfied with the lesson.
- If the assignment is cancelled immediately after the first lesson, TuitionME will not levy a commission on you. You are to arrange and collect the first lesson payment on your own.
Commission
- The first month's fee is based on 4-weeks of lessons and is not based on the calendar month.
- If lessons are postponed during the 4-weeks, the postponed lessons are not counted in the commission. Example: During the 4 weeks of 8 lessons, 1 lesson was cancelled due to holiday. TuitionME will still collect based on 8 lessons and not 7 lessons.
- The change in frequency has to be stated clearly by the customer and tutor before the completion of 4 weeks.
- TuitionME is not liable for the changes that are unforeseen and uninformed.
- For more than 8 lessons, we collect 50% of the first month or follows previously agreed commission charges before first lesson.
- TuitionME do not allow the collection of upfront payment from the customer on the first lesson.
- TuitionME do not allow the commission to be collected in instalments.
- TuitionME tries to be fair to the tutor and will look into exceptions.
- Any attempt to skip payment of the commission; failure to pay for the commission or unreasonable demands will result in the termination of your tutor account and you will be liable for legal actions.
Conduct of Tutor
- Although TuitionME has no jurisdiction over the conduct of the tutors, penalties will imposed on tutors who display poor conduct.
- Areas where conducts are monitored:
- Punctuality. Tutors who are late for the first lesson will have their account closed. If complaints on being late frequently and leaving before the lesson is completed are received, there will be penalties on the tutor's rating.
- Responsibility. Tutors who stopped tuition without informing the customer through the phone or in person will have their account closed. SMS or emails are not considered as a means for informing the customer.
- Professionalism. Tutors have to concentrate on the lesson at hand. Ratings will be deducted based on the severity of the complaints from the customer.
- Dressing. Tutors should dress appropriately for the lesson. Although TuitionME do not impose penalty on inappropriate dressing, customer has the right to reject a tutor based on their dressing.
- All complaints lodged against the tutors will evaluated on a case by case basis and tutors will be given a chance to dispute the complaints.
